ABOUT THE ACADEMY

The Partners Hair Design Training Academy which opened in January 2012 is the realization of a longstanding dream. This Training Academy gives us the opportunity to enhance our current training offering both to staff as well as to any learner who wishes to obtain a full Ladies Hairdressing NQF 2,3,4 qualification. Our academy is proud to offer a one year and a three year programme.

We have replicated the salon model in such a way that our learners will be better prepared for integration into the real salon world.

They will work with products from the larger product houses, and will be trained in the use of the in-salon software that is commonly used by large companies in the hairdressing industry.

  • NQF 2 qualification

  • NQF 3 qualification

  • NQF 4 qualification

COURSE INFORMATION

NOW SETA ACCREDITED

The Partners Hair Design Training Academy (PHDTA) offers a full-time ladies hairdressing course over a 12-month period. Learners complete all three academic levels required for a full Ladies Hairdressing NQF 2, 3 & 4 qualification by the end of the training year, empowering them to enter the job market far sooner than after the current three year course. Learners are required to complete a mandatory twenty month practical after which they are eligible to do their Services Seta Trade Test. We also offer a part-time course which is completed over three years. Learners benefit from the PHDTA course in that the programme works hand-in-hand with the Partners Hair Design salons to ensure that the practical hours, which are required from each learner, are completed under the guidance of a salon mentor. Learners will also be placed in a work placement program to ensure that they become gainfully employed after completion of the course. PHDTA is based in Kenilworth and is easily accessible to both students and visitors, and can accommodate up to four classes per year. Learners are treated to a warm and modern learning environment, as well as a fully functioning salon facility that is used for the assessment of their practical skills.

TESTIMONIALS

One of my highlights as a student at Partners Hair Design Training Academy, was being taught by the most hardworking, dedicated and inspirational teachers, Marion Counsell and Lewis Thomas. We learned everything from life skills, handling clients and structures of hair. Once a week we were also sent to the salons to cover the practical side, which gave us invaluable hands on experience and confidence.
